Jean-Pierre Bourguignon warns “shattered careers” and “destroyed motivations” could be “irreversible" without action
The former head of the European Research Council, Jean-Pierre Bourguignon, has called on the EU to act to address the impact of Covid-19 on the careers of young researchers.
Writing for the French website AEF Info on 4 November, Bourguignon (pictured) said the pandemic has “shattered emerging careers and destroyed motivations”, and that action must be taken to prevent a generation of researchers being lost.
