Member states back EU action on microcredentials

Certificates of short-term learning should include indicators of learning outcomes, workload and assessment method

The EU’s member state governments have backed a proposal to develop a unified European approach to the use of certificates of short-term learning, known as ‘microcredentials’.

“This new tool would allow EU citizens, facing significant demographic, societal and economic changes, to take advantage of personalised learning and career pathways,” the Council of the EU said on 16 June.
