Commission: innovation agenda ‘should not be seen in isolation’

Esof 2022: Official responds to criticism that agenda glosses over breadth of universities’ innovation contributions

An official at the European Commission has said its new innovation agenda “should not be seen in isolation” but rather as a “building block alongside other policies”, after it drew criticism from universities for neglecting the breadth of their innovation activities.  

Slaven Misljencevic, a policy officer in the Commission’s research and innovation department, admitted that the agenda is not “perfect” but said it is a “work in progress”.
