Younger universities seek reform of research assessment

           

EU-funded Opus project aims to build a system that rewards researchers for practicing open science

A group of European universities has joined an EU-funded project that hopes to change the way research and researchers are assessed.

The Young European Research Universities Network, which brings together 22 of Europe’s newer institutions including Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", is about to begin work in this area as part of the Open Universal Science (Opus) project, funded by the EU’s Horizon Europe R&D programme and commencing at the start of September.
