Use emission levies to fund R&D, farming bodies say

  

New Zealand farmers say some levy money should be used to develop emissions-reducing technologies

A partnership of farming bodies in New Zealand has published a proposal that says levies on farm greenhouse gas emissions should be ploughed back into R&D.

Farmers should also have different greenhouse gas emission rules from the rest of New Zealand while mitigation tools are developed, it said.
