West Midlands sees drop in life sciences employment

            

Employment in medical technology also fell in Scotland, according to latest government bioscience data

The West Midlands is the “exception” to a general UK trend of a net increase in employment in the life sciences industry, seeing a decrease in employment over the past decade.

The loss of 800 life science jobs in the region was noted in the latest data on the bioscience sector, for 2020, released by the government on 3 December.
