Fund for commercialising university science and technology in the North set to make first investments
Northern Gritstone, the investment company for university spinouts in the north of England, today announced it has raised £215 million, following “strong interest” from investors.
Founded up by the Universities of Leeds, Manchester, and Sheffield to support the commercialisation of science and intellectual-property-rich businesses coming from the three institutions, the company is set to make its first investments in innovative startups in the coming weeks.
