Jisc’s ‘bewildering’ decision to pull funding for Core slammed

                        

Library staff say move could be “disastrous” for open-access aggregator and UK’s open research

The decision from higher education IT firm Jisc to pull its funding for Core—the leading platform aggregating open access research papers—has been slammed as “bewildering” by an open research group.

Jisc, which has a large membership including most UK universities, has had an agreement with the Open University to deliver the Core platform, with the two sharing the costs.
