UK researchers locked out of Horizon Europe funding

EU innovation funder has provided “not a cent” to UK project partner throughout 2021

British researchers on an EU-funded project have had their funding blocked this year due to delays to the UK associating to the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.

Research Professional News spoke to the head of a UK-based company employing eight independent researchers taking part in the project, funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), which was set to receive €90,000 (£76,000) this year but has received “not a cent”.
