Research Fortnight looks ahead to the battles facing research superheroes in 2022
The last of the mince pies had barely been finished off when science minister George Freeman set out his grand plans for 2022. On 4 January, when many were still contemplating how to pack away the Christmas lights without storing up a tangled nightmare for December, Freeman took to Twitter to proclaim that he was back at work for “a crucial year for UK science”.
Part of that meant working on his own “core missions” to make the UK a “science superpower” and an “innovation nation”.
