Experts urge government to trigger backup plan as fears mount over loss of R&D money

Policy experts have called on the government to roll out its backup to UK membership of Horizon Europe, as hopes fade that the country’s access to the EU’s R&D programme will be signed off.

The EU has previously made it clear that it will not finalise UK association to Horizon Europe until political disagreements over Northern Ireland are resolved.
