Jo Johnson calls on universities to do more to promote benefits of overseas students

Former universities and science minister Jo Johnson has urged universities to make a stronger case for growing international student numbers in the face of a “weakening consensus in British politics” on the benefits of overseas students.

Johnson said that despite there being plenty of evidence that international students bring huge benefits to the UK—both economic and non-economic—the argument was far from won in Westminster.
