MPs launch inquiry on research ‘reproducibility crisis’

Inquiry will scrutinise causes of phenomenon and investigate solutions

The House of Commons Science and Technology select committee has announced an inquiry into the reproducibility of research.

The integrity of research, especially medical and social science research, “is at risk” from what is known as the ‘reproducibility crisis’, or the inability of researchers to reproduce each other’s findings, the committee said.
