UKRI director says efforts to tackle inequality in research need to be scaled up
The R&D sector should “band together” to tackle racism instead of operating in silos, UK Research and Innovation’s deputy director for research culture and environment has said.
Speaking at a Foundation for Science and Technology event on tackling racism in science and technology on 7 December, Karen Salt said the UK was at a “really interesting transitional moment” in the fight against racism, with increasing numbers of initiatives and opportunities to boost the careers of Black researchers.
