Fall in knowledge exchange income during pandemic

But National Centre for Universities and Business research finds relationships still going strong

Universities have seen a 10 per cent drop in income from knowledge exchange activities, but relationships between institutions and businesses are still going strong, a report has revealed.

According to the National Centre for Universities and Business’s State of the Relationship 2022 report, universities suffered a 10.1 per cent decrease in income from businesses between 2019-20 and 2020-21, falling from £1.1 billion to £991 million.
