Government “disengaging” with the student union amid growing concerns about alleged antisemitism
The National Union of Students has said it is “disappointed” that the government has announced it will cut ties with the organisation over allegations of antisemitism in the NUS.
It comes after education secretary Nadhim Zahawi said on 13 May that the government was “seriously concerned to hear of so many reports of alleged antisemitism linked to the NUS”, and so ministers were “disengaging with the NUS until the issues have been addressed”.
