More than 76,000 staff from 157 research institutions were submitted for assessment to the 2021 Research Excellence Framework.
The exercise considered more than 180,500 research outputs and almost 6,800 impact case studies, outlining the huge amount of world-leading research produced taking place in universities across the UK.
