Universities ‘must improve emissions reporting’

                                 

Sustainability group says institutions should adopt standardised framework for reporting carbon emissions

Universities are being pushed to report their carbon emissions more accurately and consistently to help reduce the climate impact of higher education.

Reporting of carbon emissions is voluntary in England and there is no agreed method for doing it across the UK. The government wants universities and colleges to report their carbon emissions by 2024 as part of the Department for Education’s sustainability and climate change strategy.
